Cross-border financial consumer dispute
PrintFIN-Net is a network of forums for the settlement of financial disputes operating outside the courts of the European Economic Area (EU member states, furthermore, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway), which deals with the handling of legal disputes between consumers and financial service providers. This network was established by the European Commission in 2001.
The proceedings of forums coordinated by FIN-Net provide assistance to consumers with the settlement of cross-border financial disputes. If the legal dispute arises between a consumer of one country and financial service provider operating in another country, the FIN-Net member organisations will help the consumer with obtaining contact with the appropriate forum, furthermore, they will provide the necessary information to the consumer concerning the given proceedings.
The reporting form of FIN-Net can be used and submitted since 1 July 2011 or after the accession of the Financial Arbitration Board to the European network of dispute resolution.
