INTRODUCTION

International cooperation has become a key element in today’s complex economic environment. In this spirit the Magyar Nemzeti Bank, the central bank of Hungary launched its Technical Cooperation Programme in 2023 which continues in 2026. The programme aims to foster the MNB’s collaboration with its partners and facilitate the exchange of knowledge and best practices among central banks. Titled “Knowledge without Borders” the MNB Technical Cooperation Programme 2026 features four seminars addressing both core and emerging areas of central banking, such as financial stability, cash logistics, statistics or green finances.

This programme is an excellent opportunity for economic policymakers and experts of central banks to expand their knowledge and build valuable relationships with other professionals from around the word. By participating, experts have the opportunity to gain knowledge related to financial stability and sustainable growth, benefiting not only themselves, but also their wider community at their respective institution.

GREETINGS

Having had the privilege of working within several international financial institutions I have learned firsthand how essential international cooperation is in practice. Driven by the value of knowledge exchange and collaboration, the Magyar Nemzeti Bank launched its Technical Cooperation Programme in 2023 to create a platform where knowledge and expertise can flow freely across institutions and regions. The programme reflects the MNB’s forward-looking and proactive international strategy, based on mutual trust, professional respect, and long-term partnership.

Our seminar topics combine traditional central banking functions with the latest developments shaping the financial landscape, including financial stability, payment systems, financial innovation, and green finance. Since its launch, the programme has welcomed more than 300 participants from 32 countries and continues to grow as a comprehensive international knowledge-sharing platform. I warmly invite our partners from the Western Balkans, the Caucasus, the Middle East, Central and East Asia to join us at our seminars and work together towards a more resilient global financial system. I hope to see you in Budapest this year!
