On 19 October 2005 the Magyar Nemzeti Bank issued a HUF 50 denomination coin in 2 million copies to mark the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the International Children’s Safety Service.
The side of the coin bearing the face value is identical to the HUF 50 coin currently in circulation, but on the other side the picture of the saker falcon is replaced by the logo of the International Children’s Safety Service. Next to the logo there is the legend “The International Children’s Safety Service is 15 years old”.
The coin’s new side was designed by István Kósa.
The coin was made from an alloy of copper (75%) and nickel (25%), weighs 7.7 grams, and has a diameter of 27.4 mm and a smooth edge.
12,000 numbered, gift-wrapped copies of the coins struck on the first day will be offered for sale.
The gift-wrapped coins struck on the first day are available from the International Children’s Safety Service’s Budapest office (Budapest, Teréz krt. 24.).
