On 20 April 2006 the Magyar Nemzeti Bank issued a silver collector coin “Munkács Castle” with a face value of HUF 5,000.
The obverse of the collector coin bears a period portrait of Ilona Zrínyi in a decorative oval frame, while there is a depiction of Munkács Castle on the reverse.
The coin was designed by Enikő Szöllőssy.
The coin is made of .925 fine silver, weighs 31.46 grams, and has a diameter of 38.61 mm and a reeded edge.
8,000 coins may be struck, of which 4,000 are produced by the special “proof” technology.
The coin may be purchased from the Hungarian Mint Ltd. (Budapest, Könyves Kálmán körút 38) or from the shop in the Magyar Nemzeti Bank’s Visitor Centre (Budapest, Szabadság tér 8/9). The coin is available at face value for three months from its date of issue.
