The lower legend on the obverse of the collector coin bears the inscription ‘MAGYARORSZÁG’. On the left, arranged in three horizontal lines below one other are the value numeral ‘3000’, the inscription ‘FORINT’, the mint mark ‘BP’ and the mint year ‘2013’. The right side of the coin features a stylised depiction of the atomic structure.
The lower legend on the edge of the reverse bears the inscription ‘NOBEL-DÍJ • 1963 • WIGNER JENŐ’. The bust of Jenő Wigner is positioned on the right side. Arranged horizontally in two lines to the left of the bust is the equation of the Wigner-Eckart theorem. The coin features the master mark of designer Fanni Vékony to the right of the bust.
Minted in .925 sterling silver, the oval-shaped commemorative coin weighs 12.5 grams. It is 30x25 mm in diameter and has a smooth edge.
The mintage limit of the coins is 5,000, of which 3,000 can be produced in a special proof finish.
