Kardkovács Kolos, 2016. szeptember 12 óta a Monetáris Tanács tagja.
Mr Kardkovács obtained a degree at the Faculty of Law of ELTE in 1996, and then went on to receive the degree of expert in European law in 2000 at the same University. In 2003, he completed his studies at the College for Finance and Accounting, specialising in Finance and Financial Institutions.
From 1996, he worked as an executive at the Ministry for Industry, Trade and Tourism, later as an executive, and then Deputy Head of Department and finally Acting Head of Department at the Ministry for Economy. Between 2000 and 2010, he was a lawyer at the Dr Kardkovács and Partners Law Firm. He served as Deputy State Secretary responsible for legal and coordination matters and as Deputy State Secretary responsible for employment matters at the Ministry for National Economy between 2010 and 2013. From 2013, he was Director of Central Procurement and Facilities Management at the Magyar Nemzeti Bank, later Legal Director of the Bank from 2014, and then Executive Director responsible for bank resolution from 2015. In 2015, he was Executive Director responsible for procurement of MKB Bank Zrt, executive Director of MKB Üzemeltetési Kft, and executive Director of MKB Nyugdíjpénztárt és Egészségpénztárt Kiszolgáló Kft. In 2016, until his appointment to the Monetary Council, he was Executive Director of MKB Nyugdíjpénztár.
In addition to his work, Mr Kardkovács fulfils a number of other functions: member of the Public Procurement Council (1999 to 2005 and 2013 to 2016); member of the Supervisory Board of the Hungarian Foundation for Enterprise Promotion (2000 to 2010); member of the Steering Committee of the Labour Market Fund (2011 to 2013); member and representative delegated by Hungary to the Governing Body of the International Labour Organization (ILO) (2011 to 2013); chief executive of the National ILO Council appointed by the Government (2011 to 2013); member of the Supervisory Board of the Hungarian Mint Ltd (from 2013); trustee and member of the Supervisory Board of the Pallas Athena Foundations (2014 to 2016).
Mr Kardkovács published a number of articles in KÖZbeszerzés and Közbeszerzési Szemle; co-author of the Közbeszerzés Nagykommentár; editor of the Munka törvénykönyve kommentár; author of Az államigazgatási eljárás szabályai – Kommentár a gyakorlat számára. In 2015, he was awarded the title of honorary associate professor of the University of Pécs.
