15 April 2005
The Magyar Nemzeti Bank has revised the list of currencies on its daily official exchange rate sheet and has broadened the list to include the following currencies with effect from 2 May 2005: Croatian kuna (HRK), Icelandic króna (ISK), Korean won (KRW), Mexican peso (MXN), Romanian leu (ROL), Slovenian tolar (SIT), New Zealand dollar (NZD), and Turkish lira (TRY).
The role played by these currencies in payment turnover, the degree of convertibility as well as financial market development and increased customer demand have explained the Bank’s decision.
