According to securities statistics, at the end of October 2022, the stock of domestically-issued quoted shares held by households reached HUF 1,142 billion, an all-time high in the market. In recent months, households have typically bought quoted shares issued by Hungarian credit institutions. The stock of foreign-issued shares held by households, which are included in the statistics reached HUF 599 billion at the end of October.
The securities statistics, published monthly, provide detailed information on the sectoral distribution of holdings of domestic securities and the reasons for changes in stocks, as well as on securities issued by foreigners and held by domestic economic agents.
