The Governor of the Magyar Nemzeti Bank, the central bank of Hungary, Mr. György Matolcsy, met with H.E. David Pressman, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to Hungary for and introductory and business lunch visit on August 22, 2023.
The Hungarian-American economic, trade, historical and cultural relations date back more than a hundred years. Hungary and the US work together on many areas such as security, economic energy and law enforcement, to achieve common international objectives.
During the meeting, the parties reviewed the Hungarian and American economic relations, the bilateral financial ties and the opportunities for future professional collaborations. Governor Matolcsy highlighted the importance of having strong bilateral relations in the current uncertain economic and geopolitical situation. Both Ambassador Pressman and Governor Matolcsy agreed that it is of utmost important to further deepen the economic relations between the two countries and to maintain a continuous dialogue.
