The IIF (Institute of International Finance) is an international financial organization that brings together key players in the financial sector – including central banks, commercial and investment banks, asset managers, insurance companies, sovereign wealth funds, hedge funds, credit rating agencies, and stock exchanges – with approximately 400 members from more than 60 countries. The organization’s primary goal is to support prudent risk management in the financial industry, develop sound industry practices, and promote the interests of its members – specifically regulations and economic policies that serve global financial stability and sustainable economic growth. It focuses particularly on sustainable finance, digitalisation, risk management and financial regulation, as well as credit markets. The MNB has been a member of the organization since 2019, providing its colleagues access to the institution’s databases, studies, and working groups, as well as international, regional, and topic-specific meetings. The IIF regularly organizes workshops, webinars, roundtable discussions and podcasts, and also publishes research reports. The IIF’s most prestigious event is the Annual Membership Meeting, which is held every October on the occasion of the IMF Annual Meeting.
